At Kimisagara YEGO Center, the Health and Sport Program plays a critical role in empowering youth to make informed decisions about their health while encouraging active lifestyles through sports and recreation. This program combines health education, counseling, and sports activities to promote both physical and mental well-being among young people.

Key Components

1. HIV/AIDS Awareness and Counseling

  • Individual and group counseling sessions for youth at risk or affected by HIV/AIDS.
  • Awareness campaigns aimed at reducing stigma and promoting prevention.
  • Community mobilization to encourage responsible sexual behavior and testing.

2. HIV Testing Services

  • Free and confidential HIV testing and referrals in collaboration with health institutions.
  • Access to post-test counseling and guidance for youth who test positive.

3. Pregnancy Testing & Counseling for Girls

  • Pregnancy testing services available in a safe and confidential environment.
  • Support and counseling for young girls facing unwanted or early pregnancies.
  • Linkages to reproductive health services and reintegration support.

4. Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) & Family Planning (FP)

  • Educational sessions on SRH and available family planning methods.
  • Provision of FP services and distribution of contraceptives.
  • One-on-one and group counseling tailored to young people's specific needs.
  • Advocacy for youth-friendly health services and informed choices.

5. Sports and Physical Activities

  • A wide range of sports including football, volleyball, handball, and skating.
  • Regular training sessions and youth-led sports tournaments.
  • Promotion of teamwork, discipline, and self-confidence through sport.
